I think, everyday was a total lifetime for me. I mean it has changed every aspect of my outlook towards Public Speaking. And I think, I had told him, when he was talking to me, I had told him that, in my college, the subject I was preparing from second semester, I had to give a speech on it in the third semester, about a year after it. I had prepared about 10 minutes speech, it was more that 10 minutes. I had written in my note book, it was about 15-20 pages. And when I was in front of my own friends, and that's about 20 of them, I couldn't speak anything. It was, I mean I just finished in 3 minutes or so. And I was there standing in front of them, forgotten half of the things, and it was a total mess. But now I think I am much more confident about it, and I think this will do a world of good to me. I have come here to speak my heart.

On the first day, there was an introductory lecture here. There were so many people. And I was also invited by Mr. Arun Veeramoney. I just came to, so that he should feel good that I have attended this. Then, still I was thinking, I should be a little hesitant about joining this course - it is better I should avoid it. For that I put a condition, see Chembur is very far from here, it will be very difficult for us to go there. If Arun Veeramoney can remember, I put a condition that if this course can be done somewhere in ISKCON - knowing that it will not happen. I knew it is not going to happen, I put up that. And after 4-5 days I get a call from Arun Veeramoney - Ya! He has agreed to give the course here.

To be very frank my dear friends, this course was suggested by my boss in my profession. I am a Security Manager by Profession. I told my boss - look I am already 52-53. What I will learn with this course? And even if I learn it, what am I going to do with this art. I am a security man - I have to catch a person - and tell him this is wrong this is right. You can't do this - you get out from here - you don't come here. This is the language I have to use, which I know.

But when I joined this course, I found so many strange things - I was surprised. I said I should have done this course long back.

But still I feel that I am not late. I have done it, I have achieved it. And this will help me in my future life whether it is Spiritual or whether it is Material.

When I came to know there was a person from outside is coming, first of all I was little hesitant. Because normally, since 5 yrs - 6 yrs I have joined, I joined in 2001. Normally we have been hearing from Devotees of ISKCON, normally, outside. We have seminars all over ISKCON. I was thinking who is this person who is going to teach us Devotees. That sort of thing was in my mind.

But when I came to the first session, I noticed one quality that Ashok Ji had - very, very fine quality which normally people don't possess. Very good quality of being a Servant. Normally people, they want to lords, they want to be masters. Everybody wants to be master. But the quality of giving - at the same time being a servant, that is a very rare quality. Which is a Krishna Consciousness Philosophy. The philosophy is very clear.

Ashok Ji is not from that back-ground from ISKCON, still when I saw this quality, I felt that now I should attend this course. I was very convinced. When I attended this course, I learnt a lot, and I practically applied in my life. And I am very thankful to Mr. Vasandani.

What I really admire about sir is that, he always encouraged us to think for ourselves. Because you see, we are a dozen of us who come from very different walks of life. Apart from the fact, that we are all in the Temple. But without that we were very different people. But he never gave us frame, he never gave us topic - you speak on this. He said you are the boss, the choice is yours, the topic is yours, you speak what you want to speak.

So we worked backwards. From what we had, he fine-tuned us, and he made us Perfect.

And so we want to thank you sir, and we want to assure you that this is not the last day for us, we are going to carry this for our whole life.

HARE KRISHNA!!

So there were many things we learnt in this course. But one very important thing which was not a part of this syllabus. In the second session, very important thing I noticed. Actually for all of us, as participants we knew that Ashok Sir, is - he is our master, he is our tutor, and he has all the rights to correct us. But I remember, he asked Deepak at-least 15 times, "Can I have your permission to correct you. Fine, are you ready for it". He asked at-least 15 times. That is something very important.

At-least in this Age you know - when we like to give comments immediately. We throw comments if there is something negative to say, criticize we immediately criticize. But here I found that he was, you know, waiting for Deepak to be ready to accept, whatever is going to be said. And I think when he gave remarks, we were ready - it was very valuable, and we took it.

What I learnt from sir was that we should not be eager to criticize and pass comments.

Believe it or not, if you tell anything negative to a person, whatever good you have said and done is gone. Make sure that he will come and take revenge. Because the time is such - its called Kalyuga. People don't remember the kind things we did, but they will remember if you criticized them, they will always remember. But how to handle this. Sir had a very difficult task He had to tell us - what is our defect. But still he did it so nicely. And with that we learnt a lot also - How to correct others. It's a very Great Art.

We are living in a very dangerous times. We try to correct somebody, he will be our Enemy no. - 1. But how to handle that we learnt.
